Humanitas Catanese Clinical Institute was born in April 2020 as a replacement for Humanitas Catanese Oncology Center, founded in 1958.

Catanese Clinical Institute is a private hospital also accredited by the National Health Service located in the east of Sicily, close to Catania. The Catanese Clinical Institute has 178-bed ward, 6 operating theaters with Emergency technology, an intensive care unit, 6 stations with a multi-parameter monitoring system with dedicated monitoring center.
Moreover the Operating Units of Medical Oncology, Surgery and Radiotherapy, specialized in the treatment of abdominal, gynecologic, breast and thyroid diseases, have been joined by the Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation ones.

Humanitas Catanese Clinical Institute is endowed with the most modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipments such as 3 linear accelerators (TrueBeam and TrueBeam STx) for Radiotherapy; a intraoperative CT designed to function inside existing operating rooms with High-Resolution Computed Tomography image quality that increases surgeon confidence and supports advanced minimally invasive surgery; a intraoperative 3D system for Spine and Cranial Surgery; 2 MRI and two PET-CT both with dedicated software for Radiotherapy treatments; 3 Mammography systems, 2 3D with tomosynthesis and one with stereotactic biopsy; a system to monitor the radiation dose optimization for all patients to undergo radiological investigations.

Since 2014, the Catanesce Clinical Institute is accredited by Joint Commission International for its high standards and parameters about quality and safety; at the same time, the hospital obtained the Breast Centre Certification, for its paths of diagnosis and treatment related to Breast Cancer in compliance with the guidelines of Eusoma, the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists.
